No stranger to lighting up the dancefloor, Mary Droppinz has become a rising star in the dance music space since her debut- with bass-laden DJ sets and releases that are heavily inspired by the UK electronic scene. The eclectic producer and tastemaker returns to Zeds Dead’s Altered States label with her latest release, "Ignite".

Staple elements from each genre work together to create a high-energy dance track that is sure to hit the charts around the globe.  When creating the single, Mary Droppinz got special permission from label-owner Zeds Dead and Subtronics to create an original from their hit track, "Gassed Up". Vocals from the grime MC Flowdan layered on top of breakbeat-inspired drums keep listeners "gassed up" throughout the entirety of the track.

When discussing the background of the project, Droppinz touches upon her reworking the track for the Altered States label, “It’s such an honor to put my own touch on this legendary track from Zeds Dead and Subtronics, I was especially drawn to the iconic vocals from Flowdan. My intention for this track was to slow down the original and turn it into a heavy hitter that could be played out in the house and techno world.”

Mary Droppinz’s fascination with rhythm began when growing up in her native Omaha, Nebraska as a result of her father’s seasoned skills as a drummer. She quickly started on the piano and carried that musical influence to her current home of Southern California- where she went to production school at IO Academy and worked as a marketing manager for Native Instruments. Since then, she has become one of the strongest selectors from Southern California- playing venues such as Coachella, Red Rocks, Club Space, Amnesia Ibiza, Lightning in a Bottle, Greek Theater Berkeley, Elsewhere NYC, Brooklyn Mirage, EDC Las Vegas, Seismic, Desert Hearts, and a residency at Discopussy in Las Vegas.

With an armory of trendsetting releases under her belt, Mary Droppinz shows no sign of slowing down. "Ignite" showcases her significant talent in bridging the communities of house, techno, and bass, whilst also paying homage to the underground.
