Choplife Soundsystem is an exciting new dance project by global music superstar MR EAZI and UK-based Afrobeats tastemaker and selector DJ EDU, and together, they are taking over the summer with their seminal new album titled CHOP LIFE, VOL. 1: MZANSI CHRONICLES. The project was led by the club banger "Patek" featuring DJ Tarico and Joey B, and now the duo returns with "Wena" featuring vocalist Ami Faku. "Wena" is a chilled afro house jam that is made up of afro-soul elements with a touch of amapiano aesthetics. Ami leads the charge with her airy vocal runs and soft alluring melodies while Mr. EAZI adds in his baritone vocals at certain parts.
The song also comes with an exotic visual that seems to have been shot in different parts of the globe as viewers are taken to different spots on the African continent. From the beautiful scenery on the beach end to the colourful set pieces and cut scenes, the visual shows different sides of the African culture and more.
