Piper-Grace was raised in the quiet reaches of South West England, with Rihanna and Nina Simone providing the perfect backdrop to her childhood. This truly informed her as she started humming tunes at the tender age of two. As she prepares to drop her EP, she delivers the new single "Selfish." The record sees her teaming up with producers Jamal Wool and James Mwanza (JDXUK) and co-written by Talay Riley.
The record dips into the singer's innermost feelings and experiences in relationships. She admits that she loves deeply and unapologetically such that it can be termed as being selfish. She is quite honest and pours her all into the track with lyrics like "I don't wanna share you with nobody else, no/I just want your body on me closer than close/every time you leave me, you know that I can't cope."
The track is bolstered by sublime pads that recreate a dreamy ambience as a mellow soundscape for Piper-Grace’s vocal execution which alternates her head voice in the choruses with her chest voice during the verses. The harmonies and vocal stacks add texture to the song which ends on a hypnotizing outro with a prominent bass line and pitched-down vocals.
"Selfish" is the second single leading up to her EP, coming out later this year.
