NOLAN fka Nolan the Ninja is a Cali-born, Detroit-bred emcee and producer who has been blazing the underground scene with multiple projects under via his SPORT CAST imprint and through acclaimed Hip-Hop label, Mello Music Group. Now, with a shortened moniker and a new album on the way, NOLAN fka is giving audiences a whole new musical experience as he grows into a new phase in his artistry. His newest single "SCOOP" which comes with brilliant animated visuals set the tone for what he has in store. The song has a lofi-soul vibe with its dreamy pops, clicks and warm basslines and sparsely arranged drums. Nolan switches his style to a laidback, sing-songy style ripe with a vivid lyricism that pours adulation on the ladies and their sensual nature. It is a far cry from his edgy hard-nosed rap releases and it's a welcome addition to Nolan's vast catalog. The animated visuals follow NOLAN fka as he takes a trip into an adult lounge where all his fantasies are met. "SCOOP" is taken from Nolan's forthcoming debut album, don’t get TOO excited, under his new moniker. The project aims to explore NOLAN’s evolution as an artist as he blends proficient lyrical ability and crate-digging production. On the new album, NOLAN channels inspiration from acts like The Internet, Terrace Martin, Tyler, The Creator, and Overdoz to create a consistent vibe with cool, downtempo grooves mixed in with lo-fi elements. Rather than rapping as much, NOLAN’s goal was to construct a soundscape and experience for the listener without having to depend solely on lyrical ability. Every track was an organic creation; freestyling takes, and rearranging vocals. For the production, NOLAN enlisted VIBSNDS, who produced half the album, CRSN (producer for J.I.D’s “Workin Out”), Brando Heat, and Jaiton.
