Nikki White drops enchanting pop number "Fairweather Friends"

Canadian alt-pop singer-songwriter Nikki White drops enchanting pop number “Fairweather Friends,” led by her husky vocals lines layered over an hazy, feel-good instrumentation.

Rooted in her trademark style of dark pop with a message, the track sees White dig deep into her personal issues in a simple and relatable way. Inspired by the idea of letting go of those flimsy connections that weakens when things get tough in our lives, the track was co-written by White alongside Jordyn Kane and Aaron Blackmar.

The track is accompanied by a minimalistic music video filled with spontaneity and high spirits. Speaking of the video directed by Alexander Sworik, White says,” Our main goal was to capture the feeling you got watching Much Music videos on a Sunday morning. We spent the day running around our hometown, stealing shots and filming everything and anything we thought looked cool. My friend in the video is actually my best friend in real life. We’ve been best friends for over 22 years.”

Having started her music journey on guitar at the age of nine, White has never looked back. Honing the natural skill that saw her release two full-length albums by 16, Nikki White has carved out a space for herself with her vulnerable explorations of everything from her eating disorder and depression to her experiences as a woman in music, all wrapped up in rich layers of pop musicality.
