Hailing from New York, pop artist Rachel Bochner has just dropped her new single, “Sucker Punch.” Providing the soundtrack for those in their twenties, the song narrates the struggles of trying to find your way through life, navigating the ups and downs of relationships and more specifically, putting the middle finger up to someone who has done you wrong.
Bochner shares, “Sucker Punch is the kind of song where there was a clear emotion I wanted to convey that I think so many people can relate to, especially right after getting your heartbroken. I love that the song sits in this revenge fantasy and lists out all these things I could do to get back at the person who hurt me, but at the end of the day, it’s just me lost in my head trying to make myself feel better.”
Digging deep into her emotions, the track sees Bochner venting her feelings, as she opens up about her own experiences with breakups. Despite touching on a more melancholy theme, “Sucker Punch” refuses to be sad, as the energetic track burns bright with bold guitars, an upbeat, dance-worthy rhythm and the singer's IDGAF attitude. Bochner reveals, “I’d encourage listeners to unapologetically feel their feelings, NEVER take shit from unworthy men, and remember that even when you’re sad, you’re still hot.”
“Sucker Punch” is the first single to be released from her upcoming debut EP.
