Award-winning Nigerian multi-talented producer and singer-songwriter Pheelz is having a tremendous run since the release of the massive hit "Finesse" which spawned viral dance videos, a remix with NY rapper French Montana and a brilliant performance on NBC’s Late Show with Seth Meyers amongst other milestones. Pheelz is definitely not slowing down and caps his accomplishments with his sophomore EP aptly titled Pheelz Good. The 8-track body of work is a celebration of life, success, and love.
he opens the project on a high note with the mellow jam titled "Ballin" which sees him reflecting on the hurdles he had to face and how he paid no mind to the naysayers to chase his dreams which have now become reality. Over a smooth and sublime soundscape, he reflects on the detractors with the line "Cos they told me that I couldn't do it but I did, full stop/ but I paid my dues, blood and sweat" and stylishly flexes on the haters when he sings "Wetin man go gain if I no ball on dem". This is followed by "Stand By You" and "Pheelz Like Summer", two tracks that showcase his versatility. The former is a laid-back afro love ballad ripe with Pheelz's signature layered harmonizing and choppy melodic runs while the latter is a mid-tempo r&b infused cut inspired by K-Ci & Jojo’s “All My Life” and displays the singer's vocal range and heartfelt lyrics that lovers would relish and will surely make their Valentines day playlist. This is followed by back-to-back bangers in the form of the Davido-assisted "Electricity" and the chart-topping "Finesse" featuring BNXN. The fun continues with the Backstreet Boys sample-driven "Pablo Escobar" where Pheelz implores us that he is all about his bag and success and has no time to waste. The project closes with upbeat club records "Emi Laye Mi" and "Ewele" that leave listeners in an uplifting mood with their catchiness and motivation themes of staying true and chasing one's dreams.
Overall the project is as cohesive and consistent as ever and we get to see different sides to his artistry. From hi collaborating with other producers and expanding his vocal stylings, Pheelz really found a balance while basking in his own success.
