ANDRO has returned with a bang on his latest single "Physical".
Co-written with Hannah Yadi and co-produced with Courage (Joe Carson), this track is a must-listen for fans of 80s pop with a modern twist. ANDRO's silky vocals and emotive lyrics tell a powerful story of growing up with domestic violence and its impact on his adult relationships. The production is top-notch, with a guitar melody that will stick in your head for days. The song is a perfect balance of nostalgia and vulnerability, and it's sure to resonate with listeners from all backgrounds.
ANDRO explains: “The song is about when my parents used to fight and what that was like, watching and growing up with. The pain and trauma that it can carry through into adulthood and how it's shaped me as a person, teaching me how to navigate my own platonic and romantic relationships and be the cycle breaker of my family."
Writing with Hannah (Yadi) was a refreshing experience for ANDRO, providing him with the creative freedom to express himself authentically, while also approaching a sensitive topic with sensitivity and passion.
Courage also quickly picked up on ANDRO's idea and added a guitar melody that blended well with the other elements. Over the next few months, the two collaborated on production ideas, and then Jared Anderson, a Grammy-nominated music producer, mixed the track "to perfection" before being mastered by Ed Woods.
The song is a very personal and vulnerable topic, touching on domestic violence and family trauma. ANDRO hopes it will resonate with all listeners, but especially those from similar socioeconomic backgrounds as him.
This is the second single from his upcoming EP Conflict, which is shaping up to be a must-listen for anyone looking for a fresh take on pop music. ANDRO's past as a member of JUNGLE has clearly informed his solo work, and it's clear that he's well on his way to becoming a household name.
