DC-based pop singer and songwriter Emily Henry has just unveiled her latest single "How It Feels". Completely funded by her dedicated Twitch community, the single is the first of the year from the songwriter following her 2021 full length album The New World.

"How It Feels" is a hopeful tale all about falling in love for the first time. Inspired by the relationship between the middle age leading characters in the queer pirate rom-com Our Flag Means Death, "How It Feels" details a fumbling romance that is tender, awkard and fun. Lyrics including, "I've been called an acquired taste / better off dead maybe / then you come around with your sunshine smile / and it turns out I haven't laughed in a while / and you touch my hand / that's how it feels," show the joy after loneliness that takes place when one feels a deep connection and unconditional love from someone. The song features pop rock candy-coated soundscapes full of crisp guitar riffs, soaring synths and Emily Henry's honey-dipped vocals that are full of heart and soul. Inspiring lyrics and infectious melodies are highlighted in this upbeat and cheerful love anthem.

Emily Henry is known for her dynamic and visual storytelling lyrics packaged in catchy left of center pop songs. During the pandemic, the songwriter began to livestream on Twitch and has since built a dedicated community that tunes in for her live concerts three times a week. Take a listen to "How It Feels" now and add it to your pop playlist.
