Ocna explores an overdue break-up on "Less Luminous"

Brighton indie rock act Ocna drops lush yet edgy indie pop-rock number “Less Luminous,” carried by Fiona Robertson’s sultry vocals. With an introspective vibe moving into an expansive and climactic ending, the track delves into an overdue break-up.

Brimming with layered instrumentation of synthesized strings and horns meeting guitars, keyboards, and plug-ins, the track strikes a balance being both moody yet epic. Written by guitarist/bassist Dale Hudson, “Less Luminous,” captures the burden, anxiety of a toxic relationship and the freedom of finally breaking out of it.

The track is accompanied by a music video which according to the band represents “different entities vibrantly blending together to make something seamless, bright, and new, then slowly going into reverse, breaking apart, and eventually fading.”

Formed in 2019, Ocna consisting of Fiona Robertson, Karl Nilsson, Matt Burns andDale Hudson, have crafted a smooth combination of electronica and indie rock framed by uplifting messages that draw us into a world filled with joy, sadness and everything in between.
