The Sometimes Island, composed of charismatic frontman Matt Blankenship Jr and drummer Nick Lopiano, have rapidly become ones to watch across the alternative pop scene and now they're back with a remix from acclaimed global DJ Tribbs. As they’ve climbed global charts and enraptured listeners with their incredible hit single “Acapulco,” this new remix takes them into a new era of electronica.

Acclaimed DJ Tribbs has recently signed with Sony Records, and chose “Acapulco” for his first release. The duo explain, "We’re excited to debut our initial major label release along with him. We love the remix, and it’s been amazing to see our song go from small beginnings – recording it in a rental house in La Jolla – to releasing it to a global audience. Acapulco was our very first of now several songs to get into millions of plays on Spotify, and the remix is our introduction to the world and the start of something really special."

“Acapulco” has been taken to new sonic heights. As pumping basslines and reverberating melodies rise with Blankenship’s echoic vocal energy, they resurrect an alt-pop anthem into a dancefloor sensation. This collaboration is truly on another level. As discourses of escapism and excitement weave their way into remarkable remix, we’re reminded of The Sometimes Island’s ability to bring narratives to life in a truly unique way. As the momentum builds, so do the bands ambitions. We can’t wait to see what comes their way next.
