Pop singer-songwriter and prolific actor Jeremy Swift explores love and nostalgia on cinematic track “Wonderland,” a textured and dreamy number carried by his deep baritone vocals over a glitchy yet pleasing 80s-inspired soundscape.
With immersive visuals and poignant lyricism, the slow yet dramatic number is a startingly clear reflection of the polarising world we live in, fantasies, disparities and absurdities included. The accompanying video marries fantastical imagery with the mundane to further highlight the extremities within the world we live in
Speaking of the message behind the track, Swift says, “The wonderland is never going to be perfect. It’s filled with inflatable characters and fantasies. It has to be corrupted, but you want to dream and be part of that wonderland to survive!”
Swift who grew up in a family of musicians has journeyed through different genres and instruments from a very young age, weaving through everything from punk to soul-pop. Even as his acting career took off with his Emmy-nominated performances as Leslie Higgins in Ted Lasso and Mr Spratt in Downton Abbey, Swift has never stopped honing his musical talent led by an aim to keep being creative and connect with people.
“Wonderland,” making for a haunting and intriguing peek at his upcoming second album, there’s much more to come of Jeremy Swift’s music for us to feast upon.
