Detroit rapper and producer Young RJ has cut his teeth with legends in the game and made his mark by working alongside notable acts like 50 Cent, Proof (of D12), Little Brother, the late J Dilla, and the hip-hop group Slum Village. Following the release of his third full-length solo album World Tour , the rapper releases a music video for the title track.
The record is a blissful soulful jam reminiscent of the classic Slum Village sound merging neo soul, jazz with boombap aesthetics, all underpinned by Young RJ's smooth flow and heartfelt lyrics. He is joined by legendary producer/rapper Pete Rock and Rebel Kuzco of Rosewood 2055 who both add their unique twist on the chilled groovy tune.
For the visuals, director Vice Souletric goes for psychedelic and intergalactic themes to match the love-filled lyrics. It's an interesting mix of hazy visual fx, superimposed images and clips and texts to match.
Available on all digital streaming platforms via Ne'Astra Music, World Tour features Pete Rock, Boldy James, Blu, Eric Roberson, Mega Ran, and Abstract Orchestra, among others, and arrives on the heels of Slum Village's sold-out, 17-date European tour.
