Singer/songwriter Matt Koelsch has just released his latest fiery pop rock single. Called "Part Time Lover", the track follows his release of the folk pop single "Airplanes" earlier this year.
"Part Time Lover" is all about the struggles found with temporary love. Grass can always be greener on the other side and Matt Koelsch brilliantly depicts this concept along with the issues of not truly finding happiness when one goes from lover to lover all the time. Lyrics including, "Renegade lover / Her eyes lookin for fun / Criminal lover / Always on the run /Mystery lover / She’s got an unsaid plan / She’s making a new life," shows the unpredictability found in falling for someone who is commitment adverse. With blazing horns, high tempo guitar riffs and passionate vocals that are intentional as well as contemplative, "Part Time Lover" is a decadent musical offering fusing synth pop, rock, funk and Jazz. The music video for the single is tongue and cheek following Matt Koelsch as he plays a fuck boy Romeo who reycles women trying to find "the one". The video preflectly mirrors the theme of transient love that doesn't fulfill.
