Singer KELS was born to a military family in Germany and moved quite a lot as a child. She started writing her own songs at the age of 13, was also involved in the church choir and later moved on to jazz ensembles. Her debut EP Slow Ryde, was released in 2021 and recently she put out a series of live renditions of her own original music, while she works on bringing us more singles and probably a full-length project.
Her latest single "Just in Love" is a midtempo groovy love ballad that dwells on the dynamics of blossoming love and what it makes people do. Bolstered by rich guitar arrangements, smooth warm textures and sturdy drum grooves, KELS gives a stunning performance underpinned by a passionate melodic run and lyrics that beautifully explore the ups and downs of being in love. She adds that she was inspired to write the song after she realized how crazy new love can make people feel- and do things they don't usually do.
