Midlands quintet Express Office Portico delves into the idea of change on latest single “Forget The Name,” an infectious number built on atmospheric, textured synths and strong rhythm courtesy of drums and bass.

The concept for the track pulls on the duality of change, urging us to enjoy the present moment before it changes while highlighting the realistic challenges that accompany change. With enchanting melodies heightened by vibrant floral motifs, the track is poignant encapsulation of everything that comes with change – from fear and insecurity to excitement and joy.

Serving as a reminder that change is mundane and constant yet beautiful, “Forget The Name,” has its sonic roots deeply set in blend of synth-pop, indie and alt-pop, which the five-piece consisting of Tara Freeman, Billy Townsend, Reuben Tobolewski, Ben Phipps and Olly Walton have carefully built over the past two years.

Formed in and around Nottingham, during the pandemic and never letting the challenges of lockdown keep them from exploring their creativity, Express Office Portico are continue to go from strength to strength in their musical journey.
