London Indie-Folk trio Hazey Jane have revealed an alluring new video for their recent single "Be Better Today." Evocative of the melancholic sounds of the likes of The War On Drugs as well as drawing inspiration from the likes of Nick Drake, Joni Mitchell and Michael Kiwanuka, the track brings a soothing, comforting energy with a candid and raw video to compliment it.
The band bring traditional Folk storytelling to a modern audience, exploring joy, tranquility and friendship in a world that so often opposes. Soft vocal lines float above delicate electric guitar riffs and light, bouncing drum beats, allowing room for harmony to flourish.
The track itself addresses the difficult we all experience when trying to empathise with people we do not understand. The song envisions a 'room full of love', metaphorically representative of kindness and tolerance, something that is all too easy to walk away from. Hazy Jane invite us to pause, listen and be conscious of experiences that differ from our own.
The band are set to release a 5-track EP in October this year.
