SK & The Kings returns with her new authentic, soulful single "Clouds", a representation of the strength from friends, family or partners in dark moments. She reveals, "this is about that person who drives the darkness and doubt away, who supports and allows you to see the good things, the path forward, who is the positive force that makes life better, easier, clearer and it acknowledges them for helping you see through the storm." Released via her own imprint, "Clouds" seamlessly blends elements of jazz, pop and R&B together.
The Luton-born pop singer found herself immersed in soul music from a young age, as she grew up around her family’s vinyl collection- which explains her prominent passion for music. From her powerful, soulful and jazzy style, it isn’t surprising to understand SK had grown up inspired by Aretha Franklin records. Since her debut single "Nostalgia," she has picked up key support from industry tastemakers.
"Clouds" gives a refreshing take on the wealth of neo-soul in the UK over the past 5 years or so. The track is enriched with organic drum sounds, and a feel throughout of a live performance. You can almost imagine the track being played in a smoky jazz bar in the late hours of the evening.
SK & The Kings gives off this aura of authenticity and excitement- watch this space.
