Following the successful release of her debut single, "Detty December", Amal Fashanu is back with a new release, titled "Lean On Me". The new record blends Afropop and R&B, with a touch of makossa, further cementing Amal's versatility as a singer/ songwriter. The record dwells on having someone to rely on in times of need, and Amal reassures her partner that she is more than ready to hold down the fort. The production is pristine and upbeat and it's a sure party starter, with its hypnotic groove and alluring guitar arrangements. Amal once again is in her element as her honeyed melodic vocals cascade the lush backdrop laid before her, and even raise the exoticness with a touch of Espanol.

"Lean On Me" is the second single in a collection of four to be released on the 1st of every month. The final single will culminate in the release of Amal’s debut EP New Beginnings in September.

Fashanu is the daughter of former footballer John Fashanu and Spanish model Marisol Acuna. She is an acclaimed journalist having worked for outlets such as BBC News, Sky News, The Huffington Post, and The Guardian amongst others. She is also the founder of The Justin Fashanu Foundation and  Black Heart Label, a clothing brand designed to promote activism through fashion.
