Portland rising act Clarke John takes a melancholic peek back into a past relationship on “Sunsets,” framed by hope and concerns on how things could have gone differently. Led by a trademark chill-hop soundscape with smooth R&B vocal lines and gentle synths, with emotive lo-fi vibes.

Imagining sunsets as a metaphor for the closing of a relationship, the track is a tranquil and transportive framed by his authentic song writing technique that manages to express his personal pain through his cathartic soundscapes.

Only in his early 20s, John who comes from a musical family found his love for music blooming at the age of 14, channelling maturity into his carefully honed combination of chill-hop and rap. With a catalogue of ambient music that not only helps him express himself, but connects with listeners in a similar way, Clarke John is act worth keeping your ears open for.
