Leaning on elements of indie and pop in her exceptional storytelling – Canadian rising star King Of Foxes returns with her latest single "Only Here On Loan"—a showcase of the artist's versatility, capable of bringing an old-school vibe to modern production. This newest track is rich in piano-riffs that sound straight out of a spaghetti western, layering the foundation for an upbeat and joyous piece of indie-pop music. Songwriter King of Foxes (Real name Olivia Street) says the lyrics are "about impermanence, and the very human condition of achieving perspective only as events recede into the past.".

There's a retro feeling throughout the track, showcasing a different side to Street's previous release 'Swimming in the Undertow'. It's a track that builds excitement for her full album 'Twilight of The Empire', as we can hear the variety in songwriting that Street can bring to the project.

“When it comes to writing lyrics, I love finding universality in the specifics. I hope that people see themselves in the song — we're all hurtling through space on a rock together, trying to hold on to what we think we know. There is beauty in realizing that nothing really belongs to us, that everything we have is 'only here on loan.'" – King of Foxes
