Libyan pop act Bahjat celebrates Arabic music and culture on "I'm Here"

Libyan experimental pop act Bahjat delivers defiant track “I’m Here,” pushing back at those who questioned his creative vision and process. Written during the 2020 quarantine, the track showcases the Arab icon’s soulful, nostalgia-stroked soundscape with vibrant visuals that swerve into bold fashion and intricate choreography.

Described by the promising talent as his ‘comeback’ track, the new offering draws from lush K-pop sonic styles, incorporating the freshness of K-pop debuts into his own brand of Arabian pop music. With a smooth mix of English and Arab lyrics with an emotionally-driven message at the crux, Bahjat captures the moment he decided he had enough of the criticism.

Taking full control of his creative identity and not letting anyone’s opinions deter him, this track sees Bahjat carve out a niche for himself in the global music scene, while also urging us to stick to our own dreams through his signature relatability.

The accompanying music video for the track, symbolises the rising star’s move towards to owning his sonic sensibilities with pride. The visuals, which celebrate Arabic culture, unfolds as a heist, where a group of young Arabs including Bahjat set a plan in motion to take over a building, acting as a metaphor for the hopes that the pop act has for his carefully cultivated style of A-pop.

Working to establish himself as a leading global export of Arab music, “I’m Here,” sees this explosive act step out of his own comfort zone while also empowering others to find pride and confidence in being their authentic selves – offering up a luscious fusion of global and Arabic culture on the track, there’s much more where that came from for Bahjat with a forthcoming EP on the horizon.
