NYC Americana/Blues outfit The Mortal Prophets (John Beckmann) give a glimpse of their debut EP with title track “Stomp the Devil,” a haunting but explosive rock-tinged production, accompanied by a cinematic music video.
With a gliding instrumental courtesy of Beckmann and Captain Beefheart's Gary Lucas, punctuated by booming beats and a growling chorus, the track soars into lacerating guitars towards the end, its foreboding vibes heightened by the black-and-white visuals filmed at the historic Untermyer Park and Gardens, just north of New York City.
