LACES shares breathtaking new track "Underdog"

Los Angeles based singer/songwriter LACES is known for her honest lyrics that permeate her introspective contemporary pop records. Her latest heartfelt single "Underdog" is an anthem of catharsis and is off of her just shared debut LP Super Weirdo.

In "Underdog", acoustic guitars wistfully ebb and flow under hushed candy-dipped vocals full of emotion. The track is a passionate plea for self acceptance and an understanding that feeling misunderstood or feeling as if you are a misfit can happen in life from time to time. With lyrics including "down to the wire, casually coming to loose / haters conspire making their beds against you / throwing it down they'll pick it up in the end", LACES sings the realities of feeling underestimated and under appreciated. Despite these obstacles, "Underdog" highlights the hope found in encouraging one another as well as yourself even when the odds are stacked up against you. "When you're feeling low, keep keeping on / cause everybody loves an underdog" her smooth vocals sing, reminding us all there is a community of support just a grasp away.

LACES is the tender indie pop music project of Jessica Vaughn. Vaughn grew up in New Jersey, a child of musical theater. Previously performing as Charlotte Sometimes, Vaughn released her major label debut in 2008 with more music following. Her metamorphosis as LACES in 2015 brings an authentic and deeply vulnerable new voice to an often polished alternative pop landscape. With "Underdrog", LACES aims to help listeners feel less alone. Take a listen to her new track and remember it is ok to reach out for support when you need it.
