New York rapper Rinchere creates socially conscious hip hop that is relevant, cerebrally charged, and full of good intentions. The artist, who specifically hails from the hip hop mecca we know as Queens, just dropped his enthralling new single "The World Watching", featuring fellow revolutionary artist Var Brown.
"The World Watching" is one part revision to the Jay-Z classic "Streets is Watching" and one part nod to the documentary The Social Dilemma. Filled with clever, thought-provoking lyricism that is delivered with effortless style and flow, the song brings back the glory and nostalgia of an era unforgotten, but with a timely, modern-day message. Thematically, the single is about one's collapse through social media and the internet. Instead of the streets just watching, now the whole world is watching. Rinchere confides, “In a way this project was inspired by the documentary The Social Dilemma. The internet is a powerful tool that has innovated the world in many positive ways but at the same time it has done irreversible damage to humanity. This project is a retrospect on that." Extortion, privacy, irreversible damage to one's reputation, and being privy to another's moves are just some of the important takeaways that Rinchere has on offer in this masterful track.
Rinchere, formally known as Spectacula, has been making music since he was a young child. Rhyme, rhythm and beats became the outlet for his struggles, which in turn served as a catalyst for his creative growth. The artist's dedication to his craft remains of utmost importance, resulting in a catalog of bold, well-constructed projects with razor-sharp messages. "The World Watching" is from Rinchere's upcoming album Retrospect due out on April 22nd.
