After starting his new phase in sobriety, UK emcee MOAN returns with another self-reflective tune "Holy Son" which dives into his troubled past, his slow ascension from the darkness, and the search for a better tomorrow. The track's moody production is courtesy of MACI who uses sublime synths, somber textures layered over a punchy boom-bap drum groove that gels perfectly with MOAN's gruff vocals. The rapper doesn't shy from divulging his flaws and gives the listeners a front-row seat to the madness with lines like "I'm like an octopus in Dr. Zeuss with walking shame/ Felt rejected, a reason why myself I slain." With that, he slowly takes steps to shed those toxic elements from his mind.
The self-shot visual is moody, dark and captures MOAN in his own element as he converses with an old painting of himself. This motif is a reflection of his past with him in a new phase in his life, he parallels the old and new in a candid conversational type situation.
No project is attached to the single "Holy Son" but it's one of the few singles MOAN has written since his newfound sobriety.
