Caribbean artist KALPEE releases his latest single "Jump Off" and accompanying cinematic visuals. The celebrated artist is fresh off of headlining the "Island Wave" stage at SXSW and "Jump Off" is his first single of the year with more music promised.

With "Jump Off" KALPEE explores the confidence and courage it takes to follow an unknown path. Trying new things, going to new places and exploring new parts of oneself can be terrifying but equally transformative and KALPEE knows all too well how important it is to take risks to grow emotionally. "We be flyin', yeah, yeah / somewhere way beyond the clouds / then we divin' fallin' into the unknown," he sings fervently. The accompanying music video gives an ode to his childhood with it being filmed where he grew up on the island of Barbados. The various quick edited shots and back and forth frames of color and black and white scenes further heighten the single's meaning of the mixed emotions found in taking chances. Sonically, "Jump Off" features R&B-drenched vocals complete with a Reggae inspired interlude over downtempo tropical beats and moody synths.

KALPEE is known for his unique mix of R&B, Calypso, Reggae and pop for a fascinating sonic fusion. The singer/songwriter began releasing music in 2017 and has worked with trop producers and writers including Carla Marie Williams (Beyonce, Britney Spears), Yei Gonzales (Diplo, Cardi B), Santiago Rodriguez (Little Mix, Pit Bull) and The Anmls (The Weeknd, French Montana). The artist is also dedicated to connecting his fellow Caribbean musicians, forming a platform known as "Island Wave" which presents various showcases. Take a listen to "Jump Off" and remember no risk equals no reward.
