London singer/songwriter AJ Wander has just unveiled his latest piano-driven emotive new single "When You Say I Love You." The moody track is off of his upcoming EP which explores the emotional rollercoaster that can often occur during and after a romantic breakup.
In "When You Say I Love You," AJ Wander details the feelings of being overwhelmed by a new relationship going too fast from the get go. With lyrics including, "I don't want to walk away/ fault lines surround us/ we can't rush into paradise," and "if I hit the breaks would you bail out,/I get scared when you say I love you," the artist is sharing with his love interest that he wants to take a step back as the feeling, admittedly, is not mutual. It is a difficult and heart wrenching conversation to have in a new relationship and his soul-drenched impassioned vocals highlight the confusion and often panic that can occur when someone is honest in how they feel. "When You Say I Love You" thrills with pensive piano chords under stunning layered harmonies and a soaring hook.
As the son of a pianist father, AJ Wander was surrounded by music at a young age. Finding his confidence in not only singing, the young artist began writing songs using them as a vehicle to channel his pain. With relatable lyrics that offer hope as well as detail the difficult emotions experienced in lost love, Wander aims to touch others with his deeply personal and heart on the sleeve musical releases. In his forthcoming debut EP, the musician teamed up with acclaimed producer Brad Mair (Dean Lewis, Jamie Cullum, Kygo) to "plot out the course of a breakup and its aftermath."
