Noticeably one of the most exciting projects over the last few months has been Germany-based artist Mogli's forthcoming album. Dropping singles with film-worthy visual episodes, Mogli's determination to explore the creative world around her whilst navigating personal experiences has been a whirlwind of emotion. Now, she's onto her fifth single "Aftermath," an episode which explores inner strength and the willpower to overcome toxicity.
Playing on her escape from a toxic relationship, "Aftermath" sees Mogli baring her all. A stunning balllad that weaves cinematic production and soft vocals to showcase a track profoundly graced by its lyrics, "Aftermath" sees Mogli declare "I'm calm but I talk like a waterfall / Taking more and more until I burst / And then I can't live with the aftermath / I'm cursed." It's a tortuous set of lyrics that dwell on the powerful nature of the strength from within. "'Aftermath' is an inward movement,"she shares. "Through reflecting which parts of me didn't have enough space in my past life, I'm reflecting on my personality in general. Observing ourselves, our strengths and weaknesses is an important step in healing."
Beginning her journey with the powerful "Echo" and the emotive "Bones," the slow but exciting release of her new album RAVAGE is 0ne that's keeping us on our toes.
