Detroit emcee and spoken word artist Njeri Earth is far from a newbie and has been in the game for decades. She first gained notoriety for her feature on the legendary GZA's Beneath the Surface project and later appeared on Eminem's 8 Mile film in the parking lot cipher. As an emcee, she sure can hold her own with the fellas and on her new release titled "I'm Healing," she shares a tale about self-growth while finding love in these perilous times when people easily fall prey to their emotions. Backed by a crunchy boom-bap backdrop and classic sample chop, Njeri drops vivid and evocative lyrics about an encounter with a potential date and the ensuing conversation that digs deep into his character and the type of man she wants.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, Njeri Earth started her career after appearing on GZA's Beneath the Surface album in 1999 and later released her debut album Supa Sista. She put out more projects like 20-20, The Best Part and Return of the Supa Sista and is working on another titled Mother Tongue.
