Singer-songwriter, model and actress Rainsford has just shared her latest single “Brutal” featuring Norwegian pop artist Anna of the North. Written with acclaimed indie pop songwriter Charlotte Lawrence, “Brutal” is the first single in almost two years from Rainsford.
In “Brutal”, Rainsford explores the deep hurt and confusion that can occur when love is in limbo. With lyrics including, “brutal is better than confused”, Rainsford brilliantly expresses how unresolved romance can be more painful than finally breaking up. “Brutal” brings together an all female powerhouse collaboration with Charlotte Lawrence, Rainsford and Anna of the North, who all contribute their talents to the enthralling track. Rainsford’s silky and soulful vocals gracefully soar over moody electronic-dipped landscapes full of sentiment and poignancy. “Brutal” is an atmospheric, intimate and relatable duet.
Rainsford is the musical project of Rainey Qualley who is a well known model actress and creative director. First releasing music in 2016, the artist fuses a variety of genres into her raw and emotive tracks including R&B, pop, electronic and indie rock.
