Germany-based singer-songwriter Mogli shares her new single "Bones," the fourth release from her forthcoming album RAVAGE, which also sees the sharing of episode four in her cinematic ten-part visual pairings. Although you may have spotted her as the face of Spotify's EQUAL GSA Campaign last December, Mogli's continuing her battle with societal norms on the latest track below.
Following "Echo," "The Current," and "Ghost," "Bones" is scored with an electronic backdrop built with a contrasting blend of sharp thuds, delicate piano and gritty beats. With Mogli's ability to craft soundscapes that propel you straight into the track's storyline, the single's enhanced powerful sonics invite you further into the mind of this extraordinary creative.
Despite the track's themes of depression and losing sight of what is real, "Bones" elegantly soars through its synthetic soundwaves, crashing directly into the turmoil. "As someone who trusts her gut 100 percent, it was devastating for me to realise depression brought toxic voices with it that disguised as my own intuition," Mogli adds. "Every line in 'Bones' can be read as benevolent or cynical from the pain because I couldn’t distinguish anymore."
RAVAGE, the album, seeks to document Mogli's journey through isolation and depression whilst also focusing on self-empowerment, feminism, equality and climate change. Its visual counterparts offer an extra visualisation of Mogli's ideas and thoughts. This project is incredibly special.
