Singer/songwriter Jadelyn has been preparing and gearing up for this moment of her career for some time now. Last Friday, she released her first ever solo single, "About You".
Born in Washington, Jadelyn learned to play guitar and make country music with her father. She moved to LA and had been building her core following over the last few years. Her song "About You" has empowering lyrics about her getting over an old breakup. Produced by Brennan Loney, the pop song contains unembellished production with a catchy hook vocally from Jadelyn.
The LA act writes vulnerably about a failed and toxic relationship, and why she is choosing to not return to it. "I know that you will never change," is a line that carries weight when she lyrically details the situation over some hip hop drums and oscillating synths.
Jadelyn said, “I wrote ‘About You’ one night after crying on the bathroom floor devastated about closing a chapter in my life. My favorite line 'we lost what we never started' was the best way I could describe that relationship. As toxic as the relationship was, you can’t help but wonder all the 'what ifs.' What if I handled this differently? What if he didn’t hurt me that one night? What if I just cared less? Even after all the time we’d spent together , we never experienced a genuine healthy relationship. It all felt like a game. We lost something that we never even got to start.”
