Godford has released their new single "The Hill". Released alongside their new album I YOU SHE, the single from the non-binary producer is dripping is sun-kissed tones and glorious sun beams to produce a tune wrapped in the longing for summer nights.
With an unravelling beauty to Godford's work, "The Hill" gravitates towards the chilled spectrum of electronic's genre. Relying on repetitive beats and rising melody lines to create a solid foundation of sounds that bring people together, there's a slight woven feeling of intimacy on the warming notes; a feeling of late summer nights that draw to a close at early hours and the warm night's air blessing the senses.
As a non-binary artist, Godford never felt that they could relate to the music surrounding them and because of this, they are determined to inspire other non-binary folk to find their place in the musical world. "When we produced this album, the world was not going well, we wanted to create an album, that gives you the feeling of being alive, free and allows you to meet your deepest emotions," explains Godford. "We are not only trying to make people dance, but it’s really important for us that they feel the music."
Telling us that the new album is a new chapter, story and emotion, I YOU SHE promises a rabbit hole of fascinating electronic notions and a combination of emotions. It feels like Godford has finally found their connection with music by creating their very own, personal world of sound.
