It can never be overstated that the pandemic has changed our lives forever but with the help of creatives, we sure have found renewed strength in the insightful music being churned out such as this new single "Fairweather (I'll See You)" from Montreal-based Jamaican-Canadian songwriter/rapper, Jonathan Emile.

Emile pens a heartfelt and introspective piece that looks at the subtle effects of living in the pandemic has done to relationships and friendships. The song recognizes that the time alone gave him the opportunity to find his center and purpose, and find his true friends and relationships. Over Tone Jonez' melancholic production built on somber piano chords, pulsating basslines with a head-nodding drum groove, Emile delivers an emotionally filled performance ripe with evocative lyrics and a heartfelt sung chorus to match.

Jonathan Emile is a mainstay in the Montreal music scene, as a vibrant performer who seamlessly blends hip-hop, R&B, and reggae. His debut release was the EP The Lover/Fighter Document in 2011 which he followed up in 2015 with an LP version in 2015. Emile developed his unique sound during his battle with cancer at the age of 18 and used music as his personal form of therapy fusing it with personal experiences and then some. He also released a reggae album Spaces-in-Between via a partnership between his independent label Mindpeacelove Records and Tuff Gong International.
