There is something so intoxicating about the Euro club scene, especially in Berlin. The underground, avant-garde nature of it all can be truly thrilling. Mote captures that excitement with his new single, “Bondage.” With static, mechanical soundscapes and hypnotic vocals, listeners are instantly transported to that alluring nightlife. Seductively singing, “handcuffed, tying me up/ oh I, I can take it,” he touches on the adventure that comes from the city’s sex scene. The gritty and gripping tune hits listeners with an electrifying jolt.
Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Mote moved to Berlin, Germany just weeks before the pandemic. The singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist worked with prominent producers in Berlin such as Lahos on the song “End This Ride.” Mote has continuously attracted fans with his colorful style of Rock/Indietronica. His eccentric music has evolved even further with this recent move. “Bondage” is a great example of that sonic growth. The tune perfectly encapsulates Berlin’s liberating atmosphere. He admits, "Moving to Berlin gave me a whole new color palette. Bondage was inspired by the pervasiveness of industrial club music and sex culture in the city. I was also falling in love with a girl and feeling the exhilaration and terror of relinquishing control of all my defenses."
