South African-born, Amsterdam-based rising star, Lee Ann Roberts has released a new single via her own NowNow Records label. “Reality Bytes,” which comes with remixes from Balrog and Felicie, showcases the exact reason why Roberts has skyrocketed onto the techno scene over the last year.
“Reality Bytes” is bursting with energy from the get-go. A relentless four-to-the-floor bassline, vocals that are a combination of sultry and eerie, and subtle acid squelches all lend themselves to the track in a way which makes it the ultimate warehouse banger. A techno powerhouse, this one will have just as much impact in a 200-cap basement as it would a 5000-cap warehouse. Versatility is key!
The Felicie remix kicks the BPM up a notch and adds an altogether more industrial tinge to the track. Harder drums, raging bass and angrier vocals give the track a wholly different lease of life, upping the intensity levels ten fold. Balrog rounds off the release with another blistering remix, this time reducing the vocals to almost a whisper, focusing on warped synth patterns and full-throttle energy throughout.
