Tinashe is feeling empowered on her new album, 333

Last Friday, the award-winning artist, Tinashe, released her latest album 333. The 16-track album includes features from Jeremih, Kaytranada, Kaash Page, Buddy, Quiet Child, and KUDZAI. As a follow-up to her 2019 album Songs For You, Tinashe's new project brings her spiritual journey to life.

Numerology has become a huge part of our daily lives and that is no different for Tinashe. Named after angel number 333, the album is symbolic of her divine protection and proves that she is on the right path. "I think I'm definitely on the right track. I've grown a lot since my last project and I'm on a journey to getting to know myself both as a person and an artist. I think I'm just becoming better all-around and this project is my evolution", she said. On tracks like her single "Pasadena", she energetically pours positivity back into the universe. Symbolic of growth, family, and West Coast nostalgia, the song follows suit with her mission.

As she comes into her own, not only is the music changing but her creative process as well. "I created a lot during the lockdown. I think it was a very special process." Starting with melodies like most things on her journey, she went with the flow. "The easier it is for me to write, the better the music is", she continued. A veteran in the game, she tries to stick to what she knows: genre-bending, up-tempo cuts worthy of a replay. But things haven't always been easy in her creative process. Now breaking free from the industry, the new independent artist feels empowered. "It's exciting to know that the risks I'm taking to become independent are finally paying off. I think my fans are able to tell the difference in my authenticity."

Boasting a very distinct sound, she's always managed to effortlessly push the limits of the average genre. In a similar fashion to her previous albums, 333 experiments with various styles of sound. "I think my music is pop meets experimental R&B. I think I've always fallen into that lane of not fitting into a traditional R&B box but still able to create my own version of what I think pop sounds like". Pulling from electronica, dance, and soul, 333 delivers on her natural ability to make the music hers.

Tinashe is on a fearless path. No longer worried about industry expectations or fitting in, she's finally settling into her own. With another album under her belt, she's gearing up for her 22 city tour set to kick off this September. After the postponement of last years' Tour For You due to the pandemic, she's excited to give her fans a mind-blowing experience. Fans can also expect to see her tour opener REI AMI on all dates.
