Emerging rap artist Joey Aich shares his new single "Paint (P.4.L.)" which sees him diving into experimental rap. He teams up with Cleveland-based producer Unknownphrazes who crafts a house-infused backdrop for Aich to flow over. The result is an atmospheric soundscape ripe with insightful lyrics and a distinct melodic vocal performance by the emcee. He details his journey as an artist and a young man trying to find his footing and uses painting as a metaphor for how he figures his destiny.
"Paint (P.4.L.)" is Joey Aich's first foray into the hip-house space and for a first-timer, he doesn't do bad. He sounds comfortable but more importantly, his writing is excellent and he tackles relatable topics with ease. The track was birthed after he decided to go through a folder of beats sent to him by different producers, luckily one of the beats that struck him was the one sent in by unknownphrazes and the result is what we have here. "Paint (P.4.L.)" stands for "paint 4 life," and it is the follow-up to his Out Of My Own Way EP that was released earlier this year.
