West London DJ/producer WheelUP's "Good Love" gets a resounding remix by Anushka. The original version served as the title track to WheelpUp's newest LP and features vocalists Brint Story, Destiny Will while Afronaut helps out on the boards as well. The mid-tempo Bruk/soul-infused cut gets a complete revamp by Anushka who goes for a smooth jazz texture and four-to-the-floor drum grooves to accentuate the rhythm section.
It's a far cry from the rumbling drum breaks of the original and exudes steady pacing while the vocals are craftily chopped to fill in the right parts. I like how it's not overproduced and the use of a handful of elements from thick basslines, dreamy synths, jazzy textures could go a long way. "Good Love" is taken from his remix project that also features his other songs such as "Rise Above" featuring Abacus while "Elana" is remixed by Dutch-native and saxophonist extraordinaire Reinier Thijs.
