London-based Belgian Congolese songstress Lyne Nsongo shares her brand new single "Royal" and its visual treatment. The song is the lead single off her forthcoming sophomore EP and it's produced by Ocean, who takes elements from reggae, trap and soul. Nsongo delivers an emotionally powerful performance bolstered by empowering lyrics for women going through personal struggles. Nsongo reminds listeners that women need to realize their worth and rise from the doldrums. Her smooth melodic runs are memorable and exude a slightly nostalgic feel and the Carribbean-tinged textures also add distinct bounces that makes it engaging as well.
Then visual is quite straightfroward and focuses on the singer's unique tom-boyish style. She plays a central role on here with more than a handful of performance shots that display her carriage and confidence. Nsong was born in Belgium to Congolese parents who helped furnish her with various forms of music during her childhood. Now living in London, she has forged her own path alongside her blood brother D.E.W.I., who is also responsible for producing some of her records. Lyne Nsongo is currently under a music partnership with Crep Select.
