Drogheda's crown prince of drill Offica is back with a brand new video for his track "Obito".
The centrepiece of the Irelands' premier drill collective A92, Offica has been leading the charge of this revolution of the hip-hop sub genre. Donning his trademark mask at the beginning of his career, tracks like "Naruto Drillings" "Kolo" and "Face Reveal" established him as a force within the UK drill scene. Representing Ireland and Drogheda always, A92 recently dropped their collaborative mixtape 92 Degrees to much acclaim amongst the drill fans across the world. Offica continues to prove himself to be a solo force with his most recent single "Take It (Yuck)" and now he's back with his Naruto inspired "Obito" track.
This track isn't too far out of Offica's wheelhouse. The production is solid. Typical fingerprints of drill, with toxic 808's and interesting percussion choices but the true star of this show is Offica's flow. He glides on this beat with a level of finesse rarely seen in Irish hip-hop in general. His lyrics are flashy and stylistic and the delivery is excellent at every turn. The video oozes the star quality we expect to see from this collective and is an excellent visual representation of the song itself.
To question if Offica and A92 are going to be around for the long term would be a waste of thought. This crew has established itself as the true powerhouse of Irish drill and Offica is flying the A92 flag high. We can't wait to see what's next from Offica.
