Melonyx gives off a unique "Energy"

We head straight to the beautiful city of Nottingham in the UK with the help of neo-soul duo Melonyx. The emerging duo made up of singers Georgia Copeland and Nadia Latoya just put out their first single "Energy" with the help of fellow Nottingham-based veteran producer Joe Buhdha. The record is an exploration of unreciprocated loyalty afforded to black women and fuses the worlds of soul, R&B, and hip-hop with its soothing piano chords, lush strings, and gripping grooves.

Copeland and Latoya are far from being green when it comes to the vocal presentation and both ladies deliver enthralling performances ripe with sultry and angelic melodic runs that ebb and flow as the song progresses. The theme of keeping one's energy is reinforced here and they give the listener a true female experience and perspective in this unforgiving music industry. The duo is quite unapologetic and ensures the message of being undervalued as women don't go missing.

No full project has been attached to "Energy" but it is quite likely we will hear from these two in the nearest future. Their past endeavors include touring with live music platforms such as Acoustickle and curating different grassroots workshops aimed at getting young people involved with music and events. The duo also has a regular slot on 97.5 Kemet FM radio as presenters on the Soul Selection show.
