LA-based indie act ERIEL INDIGO returns with a brand new single "Wasted" after dropping the gripping visuals for her song “Basics For Breakfast,” some months ago. The dark and trippy record takes elements from hip-hop and pop music fused in INDIGO's unique and off-beat style. She certainly has found her sound and on top of that, she sprinkles healthy doses of self-awareness and personal tales of her journey in this music industry.
INDIGO's approach is quite unique here and she gives a mix of melodic raps projected with a weird lethargic performance akin to someone slurring their lines. The song aims to show the seedy side of the music industry from the unending sexual advances from men in positions promising the world to the being bordered on all sides by vices and its enablers. It dives right into the issue and gives an unapologetic account of her findings and it's up to the listener to take action with the knowledge she is dropping. "Wasted" lets us know that it's not all glamour and glitz in this industry and everyone has a dark story to tell which is important so people coming after us won't fall into these traps.
"Wasted" is the third single off of her upcoming album, Angels & Aliens which is expected in late summer 2021.
