KaEl reaches breaking point in "Add It Up", his laid back new jam

It's safe to say most of us have been in a relationship that has us questioning if it's all worth it. Sometimes it can all get too much, and lead to that particular relationship being strained and breaking down. That's exactly the sort of thing that Brooklyn crooner KaEl's latest song, "Add It Up," addresses.

"Add It Up" is a laid back banger, designed to make you nod your head. The Fame produced beat blends soft keys on top of a stripped down Dancehall-esque beat. This sets the scene for KaEl to do his thing, as his auto-tuned vocals glide across the instrumental. Lyrically he's in fine form too. His musings about how a relationship can be devoid of trust and eventually break down come to the forefront on this track. "Things gon' keep adding up til it's bad enough", he offers on the hook. Before later telling his ex partner not to wait around for him. "Don't wait up my lover, that back and forth pushed us away" he passionately croons.

"Add It Up" is the first release of 2021 for KaEl, and one that he hopes will propel him onto bigger and better things. He's already been compared to 6lack, and the parallels are clear. This single might just get him the praise he so rightly deserves. "Add It Up" is available on all good streaming platforms right now.
