South West London rapper and producer Skripture takes us deep into the underbelly of his stomping grounds on his new release "Journey" and its accompanying visuals help set the stage properly. The self-produced record flips a classic sample and turns into a moody piece that helps bolster the vivid lyrics and storytelling on the track. Skripture expertly points out the bad and ugly from the inner city of London and the impact it can have on the hearts and soul of the young.
For the visuals, he teams up with director Jack Stangaard who helps bring the rapper's vision to life. He makes use of a lot of solo performance shots and cut scenes, all shot in dark, moody backgrounds that bring out the edginess in the theme of the song. He also keeps it crisp as possible and refrains from using any extra visual effects but rather stuck to a clean graded aesthetic.
“Journey” is Skripture's first music video from his forthcoming EP Bally. Get "Journey" on Soundcloud here.
