Fluent drops 'Heartbreak Aaron (Vol. 2)'

LA-based emcee Fluent comes through with Heartbreak Aaron (Vol. 2), a 6 track body of work that showcases his versatility and penchant for penning vulnerable and honest lyrics over dark, trippy backdrops. It's a sequel to his previous release of the same name and sees him working with talented producers such as J Cardim, J Glad Music, and, DJ Shaw T.

The first cut "Dangerous" starts off with a rant about women who treat men as disposable items and switches into a sublime and ethereal production courtesy of J Cardim. Fluent is in his R&B bag here and delivers a laidback melodic performance that exposes his pain. He links with J Glad Music on a pair of tracks, “Jaded” and “Lover Friend,” the latter featuring go-to collaborator Nancy Gomes. The two are once again in their element on “Lover Friend,” a more rap-focused cut where Fluent reflects on the ladies he had dealing with. To complete the sound, Toronto's  DJ Shaw T, crafts three cuts that help expand Fluent's songwriting range. On "Show Me 1000x" they flip the classic Robin S sample and created an upbeat house-infused jam with Fluent singing in an effortless and somewhat carefree manner. This is followed by the wavy "Zonin" and closes with the pop-infused "Listen to Me." The project is a far cry from Fluent's trap/boom bap records in his catalog and showcases an artist willing to take the extra bold step out of his comfort zone.
