Fluent's newest single ponders on unnecessary "Competition" and how people can get things misconstrued when feelings get involved with career goals. The track is a stripped-down jam that showcases Fluent's melodic skills peppered with thought-provoking lines about his life and much more. Lines like "…I just want a situation that's non-toxic, pardon if I'm skeptical I'm just being cautious…" perfectly matches the moody production from J.Glad Music, who uses wavy synths, snapping drums, and warped vocals to bring the track to life.
The visuals by Kerrigan Production complements the track to a T with their warm aesthetics. Making use of a plethora of performance shots in different angles capturing Fluent's reflective lyrics. The approach pays off because it fully drives home not just the words themselves but the feeling behind them.
"Competition" is taken from Fluent's new project Songs About You, out now via Supreme Regime.
