South African rap artist and producer A-Reece follows up his 2019 body of work Reece Effect,  with a brand new mixtape project Today's Tragedy, Tomorrow's Memory. The new release is his fifth body of work and it is 13-tracks deep with varying styles of hip-hop ranging from soulful boom-bap, futuristic trap, and more.

Straight out the gate, A-Reece gets down to business on the opening track "Mark 15:35" with plenty of melancholic horns and somber textures. His introspective lyricism boldly shares his own suffering and personal loss. On "Hibachi" his messaging takes a more hopeful turn as celebrates his wins in life over a familiar soul sample. Tracks like "The Same Thing," and "Dichotomy" displays the rapper's knack for penning relatable and heartfelt stories. The former is an insightful look at the unfortunate outcome of the wrong life decisions while the latter focuses on the dynamics of a  failed marriage.

Each track is far and in between with A-Reece confidently holding down the vocal fort by himself. On the hard-hitting track "The 5 Year Plan" he however lets his compatriot Wordz get some shine on the mic to add some extra spice to the project. Other solid cuts include the infectious "Morning Peace", driven by lush synths and an anthemic bassline. The project comes to a fitting close on "Dotted Lines," with A-Reece reminding himself and others that he is completely on a different playing field.

A-Reece leaves nothing to chance and covers quite a lot on Today's Tragedy, Tomorrow's Memory so if this is your first time, you will definitely be acquainted with his story.
