Italian-born, London-based DJ and producer Marco Dalla Villa has just dropped his new single “Wonderful Days,” collaborating with female vocalist Leanna Gage. Combining his home team’s football chant with a 1971 banger – “Help (Get me some Help)” by Tony Ronald, Marco wanted to breathe new life into the relatable lyrical content, deciding to make a sunshine bop remix. This resulted in the creation of the truly infectious “Wonderful Days.”
The song's lyrics tell a tale of praying for a healthy relationship after fighting a losing battle with a previous lover. Singer Leanna sends a warm flush over the track with her sweet-sounding voice. Perhaps a somewhat sweet and sour theme to the song, the vocals and production radiate with positivity and hope, whilst simultaneously giving a subtle flare of sadness to the acceptance of losing to a toxic romantic connection. Safe to say we can agree with Marco that this sounds relatable as hell right?! "Wonderful Days" is an idyllic paradise of tropical indie elements, combined with a bittersweet feel from a dysphoric edge on the synth melody. The song has a happy, modern glow with a somewhat Two Door Cinema Club indie guitar riff, combining both the instruments and DJ production, we are left with a rather addictive summer tune. Ultimately the soundscape of this song captures the saying, “there is blue beyond the grey” and it will be echoing through your mind for many wonderful days ahead.
